The Unexpected 150 Road Trip

May 10, 2020 in Travel Album

dear friends,

It was the summer of 2017 and this was the 150th birthday of Canada. This was such a spontaneous trip I never expected to see the views I saw what a great way to commemorate the beautiful country I live in. On this trip we saw many breathtaking moments of mountains, lakes and just how vast and grand mother nature is. It made me feel so small in a world so big. I was also blown away by God’s beautiful creations. I have never seen such stunning views of nature and this really put me in my place. What also made this experience special was I got to go with just my mom. For the first time I lived life with her in a different context where routines and responsibilities weren’t the priority.

I look back at this trip and it was full of awe filled moments but it was also a way for me to get to know my mom better. Despite the difficult days we had at home growing up but this just reminds me that we are both human. It opened me up to a new perspective where I could have more grace and care for her as her daughter and her friend. Despite our physical distance i have never felt so close to her before because through the ups and downs in my life she has always tried to be the stronger one. During this season she couldn’t stay as strong as before I had to step in as a friend i felt happy and grateful to be able to be there for her.

I know you will probably never read this but I love you mom forever and always thanks for also being my friend during the good and even the bad. I hope to bring you on another trip just you and I in the future so we can learn about each other even more. In the meantime I’m just thankful to share with you my happy and crappy even when it’s through a phone.

happy mother’s day ♡

love,

nasya

More than Trash

May 07, 2020 in Travel Postcard

dear friends,

stay hydrated everybody! 🙃 I really wanted to share this picture of my beloved water bottle friend I kept from my trip to Japan last year. I admired the chunky rectangular shape of it and the simplicity of the ombré blue label with the clean shaped fonts. The drink it self tasted like a milder version of Pocari sweat but it kept me alive during the scorching summer days. I remember I loved this bottle so much I was determined to hold it as an “accessory” with my outfit the whole day. I even thought about making it into a bag somehow 😂. It WAS trash but it became a piece of art I took home. Instead the empty bottle now is filled with so many unforgettable memories that made the trip so precious.

New York

November 03, 2017 in Travel Album

Dear NY,

I will never forget this trip because it was my very first time. I can't quite explain how I fell in love with you but it has definitely left a long lasting memory. Every corner I turned there was life above and under. It was exhilarating and eye opening; truly a healthy stimulant to my senses. Not only was I struck by the life and settings that the Big Apple was known for, it was the little moments that struck me. The way people were not afraid to express themselves and infusing their culture in this great city was truly inspiring. It was a pleasure NY and I am definitely coming back for you.

love & smiles
